Center to host grand opening, support residents throughout open enrollment period

Las Cruces, NM – BeWellnm, New Mexico’s Health Insurance Exchange (NMHIX), announced today the grand opening of its first Las Cruces Enrollment and Assistance Center. The Center, located at 1919 E. Loman in Las Cruces, will be available for New Mexicans to drop-by with or without an appointment to learn more about their options and get help enrolling in affordable health coverage for themselves and their families through the Exchange. The Center staff is hosting a grand opening event for people to become familiar with the Center, its services and staff on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 12-2 p.m. BeWellnm is working in partnership with the New Mexico Primary Care Association to provide staffing for the location.
“We understand that choosing a health insurance plan may be confusing, and we are here to make as simple and pleasant as possible,” said Amy Dowd, NMHIX Executive Director. “This center will be a helpful, in-person resource for New Mexicans.”
The Center will open to the public for the 2016 open enrollment period, which will run from November 1, 2015 to January 31, 2016. During this time, New Mexicans who are looking for health insurance can visit the Center or visit beWellnm.com to learn more about their options and enroll in coverage. In addition to the walk-in center in Las Cruces, NMHIX is opening additional centers in Farmington, Gallup and Santa Fe. Consumer assisters including agents, brokers and enrollment counselors are also available throughout the state to help with enrollment. The Enrollment and Assistance Center will open with a celebration on Saturday, November 14 at 1919 E. Loman from 12 - 2pm. Open to the public and media, the grand opening will feature food and drinks, information regarding enrollment and on-site enrollment counselors who can help answer questions and schedule appointments.
Center hours throughout open enrollment will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and by appointment only on Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturdays 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
